Treatment Specialties

My areas of focus include the following:

  • Neurodivergence: I work with clients with ADHD and/or ASD before, during, and after diagnosis; those who were diagnosed or are waiting to be diagnosed in adulthood; and anyone identifying with a mixture of experiences that fall along the spectrum of neurodivergence including the Mad Pride community. Check out this brief article to learn more about neurodiversity and Mad Pride.
  • Queer or Questioning: As a queer human, I know the value of having someone to walk with you on your journey of self-discovery especially when that journey involves gender expression and sexuality and all of the social expectations that come with those labels.
  • Transgender: I believe that gender-affirming care is life-saving care, and that care is especially vital in today’s world. I can provide a safe place to explore and process everything that comes with the transgender experience, and we will celebrate the wins, lament the hardships, and find tools and strategies that allow you to be your truest self.
  • Disabled/Chronically Ill: Being disabled and/or having a chronic illness can be extremely isolating while living in world built on systems that don’t support us or our needs. Understanding that, I offer a genuine insight into the experiences of others who fit into these communities. Because I have my own lived experience, I bring a unique insight into our therapeutic relationship, and that insight also reminds me that knowing one person’s experience is simply that – knowing ONE PERSON’S experience.

Aside from the list above, I work with a range of mental health symptoms and diagnoses including the following symptoms & conditions:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Complex Trauma & PTSD
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Burnout
  • Grief
  • Relationship/Social Conflict

Don’t See Yourself Above?

If you don’t identify with any of the symptoms or communities listed above, please feel free to reach out so we can chat. If I’m not a great fit for you and your needs, I can certainly make some recommendations. My network of fellow clinicians is always growing.

The list above does not cover all of the wonderful humans I’ve had the opportunity to work with so far or those I would love to work with in the future. I look forward to meeting you and beginning that relationship.

How I Do Therapy

Therapy at its core is about a relationship between therapist and client, and in my work with clients, I believe that relationship is the foundation to a productive and beneficial therapy experience. My intention is to always come to sessions with curiosity, genuineness, and openness. What that means in reality is that I will meet you where you are in sessions, and I will meet you as myself. Whatever theory, strategies, or trainings I bring to therapy will only build on the valuable relationship that we create.

Therapy sessions are usually 53 minutes long, which allows me to use the time between sessions to take care of any administrative or self-care tasks. Shorter sessions are available, but 53-minute sessions allow us enough time to catch up, process anything new that’s come up since we last met, and work toward your therapy goals.
